Planning and delivering this Celebration Day on the streets of Much Wenlock is a big undertaking, and depends a lot on those who live in the area giving up their time to help, both with the planning and on the Celebration Day itself. In return you get the enjoyment of being part of something exciting and the knowledge that you were one of those who made it happen!
There are many different roles and activities that we need your help with - if you want to help there is sure to be something useful that you can do towards the Day. Most work will be co-ordinated into 2 hour shifts throughout the day - so please volunteer for as many hours as you feel you would be willing to cover.
Car Park Volunteers
Working in morning / afternoon shifts directing the public into parking spaces, and directing to the Park and Ride Bus Service
Road Closure Volunteers
Working in 2 hour shifts to ensure the safety and security of the permitted road closures (please note, volunteers must be over 18 for this role)
The Celebration Day needs volunteers to help monitor the street entertainment, and help ensure that the streets are maintained in a clean and tidy condition. This will also include helping to set up the various activities in the morning, and we will also need volunteers to help at the end of the day with the clearing up!
We also needs volunteers to help with delivering posters, leaflets and programmes various locations around the area (libraries, schools, shops etc)
This list is not exhaustive as there are many other roles to be filled. Just ask us if you are interested in volunteering and being part of this special Celebration Day!
